Hot tubs and spas are perfect for getting that relaxing break or for socializing with family and friends. But, did you know that your cherished
hottubs can be a magnet for stubborn stains and rust, and can easily become a breeding ground for disease-causing germs and bacteria. Sadly, most homeowners do not take the time to properly clean out their hot tubs regularly. If you don’t clean them thoroughly, the hottubs won’t just pull together germs, but will also encourage stains to build up throughout the edges of your hot tubs shell. Making sure that the
hot tubs are properly cleaned is by far the best way for thwarting stains and bacteria from forming in the hottubs and more importantly, protects the people using the tub from the possible infections. But, making sure that the hottubs are clean and safe to use can be pretty complicated especially if you’re staying clear of using the possible harmful chemicals. Fortunately, there are a few natural ways for cleaning your hottubs and they are relatively easy. The following is short guide on how you can easily clean your hot tubs with a tried and tested technique: The first step is to grab a spray bottle. Wash it thoroughly and rinse it, then pour a 1/2 liter solution water and ½ liter solution of white vinegar. Proceed to spraying the solution liberally on the hottubs and let it sink in for a few minutes. The combined acid solution will be able to dissolve the limescale and hard water stains which have accumulated on the hot tubs over time. If the stains are stubborn, you may spray more solution on the area and wait for a few more minutes. The next step is to use vinegar and baking soda. In case further cleaning is needed, you may make a paste out of the baking soda and white vinegar and then scrub it gently using a sponge or soft brush. It's a smart idea to refrain from using abrasive cleaners such as steel wool or scouring pads because this will scratch and damage the hot tubs surface. You may simply wipe the solution away with a damp, clean cloth to eliminate residues in the unit and reveal good-as-new hottubs ready to enjoy! Most hot tubs nowadays are made using fiberglass and may be cleaned using mild acids. But, in case the hot tubs are made with porcelain, which is basically a glass surface that is fused to the metal base, then it’s recommended not to utilize acid cleaners on your porcelain enamel. The porcelain enamel may be acid resistant; however it is certainly not acid proof! The hottubs glass coating can be slowly dissolved by the acids and may expose the metal under it and cause unwanted damage. When it comes to scrubbing the stains in the hottubs, be mindful and rub gently because once its porcelain surface gets scratched, it will be more prone to picking up any dirt, grease, and soap residue. This makes the recommended abrasives very necessary in order to eliminate the persistent debris which has become ingrained within you’re the tub’s surface!
